In the foreground, five dark brown skin womyn of Nigerian/African descent, all wearing light woven sun hats with wide brims, sit in grass around a small garden, picking leaves and talking to one another. From left to right: The woman furthest to the left has curly dark brown hair, is wearing purple top with red polka dots and white pants, one leg in front of her and bracketing her basket, looking down at the large light green leaf that she’s holding. Next to her is a woman wearing a light top with flower/tassels embroidered on the front, yellow patterned pants, one hand holding her basket and the other reaching across the woman to her left leg into the dirt. In the middle is a woman with green leaves sticking out from the brim of her hat, wearing light green patterned dress with orange trim, looking down at the light green leaf she’s holding in both hands. Her arm rests above a basket filled with green stalks poking out of the left side. Next to her is a woman sitting on a stool, black stripes on her chin, wearing a blue yellow and grey patterned loose top and white shorts, holding a plant and showing it to the women on her right. The two women furthest to the right are younger. The one sitting next to the stool is also holding the plant, hat tipped back, looking down and smiling, wearing a dark blue patterned dress, and in her lap is a basket of green plants. The woman furthest to the right is wearing a multicolored dress and in her lap is a basket with only one plant; she has light brown curly hair, one leg tucked underneath the other which is pressed against the garden fence. The garden is full of purple lettuce, red and green chard, yellow and green lettuce. In the background two pairs of dark brown skin women of African/Nigerian descent stand and stroll through the grass. Dark green trees with flowers fill the background.
